Article about Yellow Knockout
Roses by Nick Murry
Also
referred to as ("sunny" or "carefree sunshine") roses,
these are the bright yellow variety of the sturdy knockout rose species. Being
the youngest of the knockout roses, they're also unique in that
they emit a pleasant fragrance which sometimes persists even throughout the
winter. Even without any blooming action people have commented on its nice
smell.
They tend to
grow a bit more rigidly than other roses. They start out intensely yellow and
soon become paler and more neutral colored. However, it seems the colder
temperature really brings out the color and looks very nice against its
background of green leaves.
This yellow
flower shares the strong attributes of the other knockout roses. Its greatest
advantage is that it resists disease and fungus. It blooms regularly for
three-fourths of the year, allowing you to get the maximum enjoyment without a
whole lot of effort. Like other roses of the knockout variety, you can prune the yellow ones early in the spring to give
them time to fortify before the cold. But a lot of the time, they are so
resilient that they can produce buds even into autumn. And when the temperature
does drop, the leaves sometimes start to blush and almost give them a pinkish
tint.
Also, its
great that they don't require a lot of attention. After 15 years of research
and breeding out the best qualities, Bill Radler, the original inventor, has
designed the knockout rose to be the most robust and convenient rose on the market. They adapt to soil, climate and
most environmental situations. They're easy to plant, maintain and forget about
until you're garden is full of rich flowers every 6-8 weeks.
So if you're
looking for a bit of variety or something to brighten your garden, you can't go
wrong with yellow knockout roses.
