Rose Meaning
Throughout history the rose has been a significant flower.  The color of these blooms is also significant as each color has a meaning.

Red: is traditionally the symbol of love, desire and passion. 

White: this color has a double meaning. It can signify sympathy, when someone has incurred a loss. It can also represent purity, innocence and chastity. 

Yellow: this is a welcoming color, full of joy, caring and friendship. 

Pink: light pink represents gentle, sweet emotions and is often associated with the birth of a baby girl. Dark pink shows a feeling of deep gratitude and appreciation.

Lavender: means love at first sight and represents enchantment with the recipient.

Green: greenish white roses are available and this color represents harmony, tranquility, opulence and fertility.
Orange: expresses passion and energy, they are similar in feeling to the red rose.

12 red ones is one of the most popular meaning "Be Mine" and "I Love You".

On one hand white can be used for weddings but on the other hand white are also suitable for sympathy.  Yellow ones evoke joy, warmth and greeting welcome. 

There is a wide selection of pink ones, but mostly they are used to show gentle emotions, admiration, joy and gratitude.  Light pink suits mostly to new born baby girls since it is associated with sweetness and innocence. 

Orange ones are an expression of energy and passion.  These roses are rivals on red as messengers of passion in romance.

Since blue roses are not grown naturally they represent the unattainable or the mysterious. They simply say "I can't have you but I just can't stop thinking about you".

Black Roses: This colour symbolizes death and farewell. Black roses are actually very dark red roses, but like blue roses they remain elusive.

By mixing roses of different colours in one bouquet, you can create a bunch of emotions. Saying you want to mix red and white roses, this would mean "I Love You Intensely and My Intentions are Honourable".
