Wedding Bouquet Instructions
1) Cut the peony stems and any other flower or foliage stems you
are using on an angle about 10 inches in length.
2) Place a
peony stem in one hand, add a stem of foliage or another type of flower if desired, then add another peony stem
and alternate between the two until the bouquet reaches the desired size.
3) Secure
the stems with rubber bands or green waxed floral tape. Then wrap the flower
stems in decorative satin ribbon. Ribbon that is 1 to 2 inches wide works best.
The ribbon can be secured to the flower stems with short straight pins that are
available at craft stores.
4) Store the peony wedding bouquets with the stems in water until the time of the wedding. You may put
them in water in a small vase and and in a refrigerator that is set to a medium
setting.
For the
brides peony wedding bouquet you should plan on using one to two dozen peony
stems depending on the desired size of the peony wedding bouquet. Eight to
twelve stems are a good amount for the maid of honors or bridesmaid peony
bouquet and three to six stems are good for most flower girl peony bouquets. We
recommend making all of the fresh peony wedding flower bouquets the day before
the wedding and refrigerating them until the time of the wedding. Make sure
that the refrigerator is on a medium setting and remove all fruits and
vegetables from your refrigerator as they give off a gas that damages the
flowers. If it is not possible to refrigerate all of the floral arrangements
then keep your house cool. If it is summer time turn up your air conditioning.
